Up on the Chimney Top…..

Mary Poppins at Murry’s Dinner Theater on July 27th was fabulous! Our favorite male actor Michael Klucher was Burt and he was, as usual, phenomenal!!. We cannot say enough about the actors in this production. From Jane to Mary they were top notch.

Winds in the east, there’s a mist coming in like somethin’ is brewing and bout’ to begin…. Until the next show.

Shear Madness at Murry’s Diner Theater.

A different type of Murry’s experience this time. Threegirlstravel enjoyed a “whodunit” which involved the audience’s participation. We got to help solve the murder mystery. It was a fun night and as always good food. It was a murder set in Little Rock, Arkansas with prominent Arkansas citizens and locations being at the center of the drama.

Can’t wait for our next Murry’s adventure!

Branson/part 2

Our condo was Surrey Vacation Resort and it was fabulous. We enjoyed having two separate but connected condo units, a one bedroom condo and a two bedroom condo, and two balconies. This was a very family friendly resort and economical. A great value, extremely clean and management was very friendly. We highly recommend.

Our trips always include a stop at the Pandora Store to buy a travel charm to go on our bracelets. The store in Tanger Outlet was a great experience. They were very accommodating. Dina and Kim helped us find the perfect charms. We have shopped for Pandora charms from New York to Oklahoma and all employees have been gracious but none better than those in Branson. Thanks Dina for helping us!

The reason we picked Mother’s Day weekend to go to Branson was to see Vickie Lawrence live. Unfortunately on the Thursday before we left we got notice that her show had been cancelled. We were extremely disappointed and wondered if the passing of Tim Conway the following day could have been the reason for the cancellation. If so, we say Vickie Lawrence, you were where you needed to be. We look forward to seeing her in the future.

We had an eventful trip home. After enjoying a nice breakfast at Hurt’s Donuts we hit the road. We did not get far before Deb announced, “Just for your information, we might need to stop the car”. Well, we had to stop numerous times with car sickness at it’s worst. With no motion sickness medication on board we finally made a stop and purchased Dramamine…… that eventually knocked Deb out for the rest of the ride home. **** Note to Threegirlstravel….ALWAYS bring medication for Deb!

Until the next adventure….

Birthdays, cancellations and car sickness….Branson! (Part-two)

The highlight of Saturday was a trip to Sight and Sound Theater to see Samson.

The program describes it as a full encounter of Samson’s story, experienced first hand, close to the action, and immersed in it. You feel as if you were actually there witnessing the events as they take place from the very beginning until the last column falls. It’s a story direct from the Bible about a God who makes the impossible…possible.

Three Girls Travel highly recommends any of the productions by the Sight and Sound Theaters. It is a must see when traveling to Branson.

Birthdays, cancellations, and car sickness….Branson!

On our way for a weekend trip to Branson, Missouri.

We ate some very good food at:

Mel’s Hard Luck Diner, the home of singing servers.

Famous Dave’s BBQ at The Landing for a birthday celebration for #3 (Cathy)

Cracker Barrel, home of the fabulous breakfast food.

Pasghetti’s Italian, home of the big meatball.

Hurt’s Donuts.

Travel insurance…yes or no?

Travel insurance is something that no one thinks they need….until you do. We learned this for the first time this spring when our trip plans to travel to Philadelphia were put on hold.

One of our threegirlstravel had unexpected surgery which required us to cancel our trip to Philly and that’s when we learned that travel insurance might have been a good thing. The unexpected happened past the date of our grace period for cancellation with a full refund. With travel insurance of $79.00 at the time of booking we could have avoided a costly lesson. We have since learned some credit cards cover unexpected cancellations but not everyone has those particular cards. Airlines generally are more forgiving and allow a credit for future trips so it is not a total loss. But the one thing threegirlstravel learned from this is the small fee for travel insurance when needed is worth every cent you pay.

In our two years of adventures threegirlstravel has learned a lot about blogging, booking, reading fine print on contracts and now the importance of travel insurance. So, these three girls will leave the headaches behind and always carry travel insurance.

Happy travels….
