Waco, Texas….The home of Dr Pepper, Baylor University and of course…Magnolia Market

Our Travel day is finally here!  We headed out before the sun came up around 6:30am.  The trip was great and the conversation among three friends was even better.

We arrived in Waco around 1:00 pm and decided to get a bite to eat before we checked into our Airbnb Rental.  We had several people recommend Georges and decided to go there for lunch…It did not disappoint!  The owner, Sammy came by our table to say hi and ask about our shirts.  He gave us several suggestions on what to have for lunch and told us his lunch specials have not increased in price since he opened.  We all agreed that $5.99 for a plate lunch was a great price for all the delicious food piled on the plate.

Debbie sprang for some homemade onion rings and oh my they were awesome!

Sammy highly recommended his famous Fire Cracker Wings ( they are not really wings at all) and told us He catered tons of them to the White House during the George W Bush administration. (A little know fact…George W Bush lives on a range about 28 miles from Waco) While we were waiting in our lunch Sammy sent a complimentary order of firecracker wings to our table…they were the bomb!!

As usual we went in search of a Pandora store for our travel charm. Gabby helped us find a special Waco charm.  She was a doll.   If you need jewelry go see Gabby at Di’Amore.

After a long day of travel we made a run to the local Walmart for some snacks for the weekend.  Doesn’t everyone go to Walmart when they reach their destination?

Then back to our home away from home, The Serene Getaway. We highly recommend this house, It is as cute as can be and our host Abigail was wonderful.  She is an Airbnb super host and we understand why!  We had snacks on the bar, coffee and creamer, eggs and water in the frig.  She was very quick to respond to any questions.  The house is very centrally located in a very peaceful, quite neighborhood.
